Founded in 1775 by General George Washington, the Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG) has been a vital component of the U.S. Army for more than two-hundred years.

As the judicial arm of the U.S. Army, the JAG Corps is charged with prosecuting and defending military law as defined by the Uniformed Code of Military Justice. Comprised of more than 3,400 highly trained and experienced attorneys, who specialize in a wide range of practice areas, including medical, contract, administrative, and international law, the JAG Corps provides legal services to commanders, civilian staff, active-duty soldiers, and retired Army service personnel.

This coin is dedicated to the skilled officers of the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps, whose legal expertise supports the Army's global mission. The obverse replicates the design and detail of the JAG Corps' Branch Plaque, which contains a sword and pen depicted above a gold wreath. The reverse contains the official seal of the U.S. Army.

Minted in a brass alloy and finished in antique bronze, this coin is imbued with colorful enamel on both sides. Each coin comes packaged with a detailed header card that describes the mission and history of the U.S. Army.
