Vietnam Veterans Memorial National Monument Challenge Coin
Commemorate your Vietnam Memorial visit or experience with this die-struck medallion created by master artisans. Great as a gift or to honor a friend, family member or brother in arms this National Memorial medallion will honor your Vietnam Memorial experience in enduring, splash-minted metal.
Located at the western of the National Mall in Washington D.C., the Vietnam Memorial honors members of the U.S. Armed Forces who fought in the Vietnam War and who died in service or are still unaccounted for. The simple design on the Memorial Wall serves to focus the viewer’s attention on each of the over 58,000 people whose names are etched into the Memorial’s two polished black granite walls.
The medallion’s obverse shows the text “In honor of the men and women of the Armed Forces of the United States who served in the Vietnam War. The names of those who their lives and of those who remain missing are inscribed…” The reverse shows a picture of the Three Soldiers statue who gaze at the names on the wall in a tribute to their fallen or missing comrades. Minted in deep relief using a special "splash minting" process, this coin is struck in a brass alloy and finished in antique bronze.
