Pretty sweet rail system, not so easy to install March 23, 2008 Reviewer: Anonymous person from Vestal, NY United States   I like it, great quality, very functional, but I have to modify it (a lot) to fit on my firearm. It is a standard 10/22 carbine, with a tapered barrel and a nylon stock, nothing weird. Not installing it wrong either, pretty hard to screw this up. The provided spacer is the wrong size (and shaped to fit a flat, not a tapered, barrel), so I will have to either remove a lot of material from the spacer to make it work, or machine my own barrel spacer. The spacer acts like the barrel band, so it must be used. Also, with the provided spacer in place, the hard sights are rendered useless, as the shroud actually runs uphill from the rear sight, so you can't see the front sight.  Other than that, it is a great system, at a fantastic price.
