NEW AND IMPROVED! |

I needed a good collapsible stock for my X7; therefore, I descided to go for this one, in spite of the poor reviewings I had read on its quality, in the faith that OPSGEAR had fixed the problems. So I went for it and I got this stock in the mail today. I am pleased to inform you that the butt-plate has been redesigned to fully fit the rear of the X7. There have also been set screws added to lock the telescoping tube in place, as well as tighter tolerances betwene the tube and the stock body. There is VERY small wiggle in the stock at its fully retracted position. If you want a good quality stock with unmatched realism for your X7, this is your stock.

Why such a poor design??? |

I just got mine in the mail, threw it on my x7. There are a few issues worth mentioning:
- metal tube shaft COMES LOOSE, very poor design, i'll have to lock tight the treads or weld them, the treads on the tube seem very pointless and are the reason this thing gets loose all the time. - there is wobble, even on the 1st position i was expecting a snug fit from Opsgear, that was a let down - the mounting plate where the push pins secure it has a loose fit, should have been supplied with some rubber inserts like the tippmann stock does - and finally the mounting plate i just mentioned is too short!!! it doesn't go flush to the bottom of you grip on the x7, leaving a tiny slit where dirt could get in, i mean were you trying to make this thing bad???
Anyways the bottom line is i'm gonna have to mod it a bit so its a secure fit i can forget and not have to worry about.
On the plus side i do like the metal tube shaft, does give a solid feel.

opps. I thought this was the special ops stock, but actually found out this is the opsgear one. Not terrible, but I was kinda dissapointed compared to the other stocks I've bought form here. The rotating ring seems kind of unneccesary, and when it came loose (which happened often) it would spin freely, which wasn't good in the middle of a CQB fight. the end cap fell off some how and i haven't seen it since. Also, the screw under the lever to change the stock position, has to be readjusted so that it dosent fall off. If the screw gets to low, then it makes it impossible to change positions, and it floats around freely. Im sure this is just a prototype, and soon they'll come out with a much better stock like the others they make. Sorry opsgear, but this isn't the same quality i've come to expect form you guys.

great stock BUT the back plate doesn't come down enough to cover the trigger alouing dirt to get in there. all the screws come loose unless you lock tight them. and there is alot of wobble on the 4 posisitons of the stock. hopefully this is revision 1/prototype and they will make it better and bring the tolerances in tighter for a great fit and not somethign that feels like it was from china. really disapointed.

this is a good stock and it completes my X-7's look m-16 forgrip, m-16 front sight and m-16 carry rail but the only way you can take advantage of the 4 positions it has is if you have a remote coil the farthest slot does make the butt stick out a little farther then a 20oz Co2 tank but with the tank under your arm it doesn't allow you to use your sights very well so i bought a remote coil and it works great. If you don't like the coil i would recommend 9oz tanks i used those until i got me coil and it was 100% better then the 20oz. the only other thing you have to watch is the nut on the adjuster handle bolt it loosens easy and i lost my handle so it is very difficult to change the length of the stock. but other then that i love it.
